The historical center of Buzuluk 

Buzuluk is not just a point on the map, but a living illustration of the intertwining of history,creative spirit and modern non -financial activity. Located in the heart of Western Orenburg region, on the border of the Urals and the deep Volga region, the city was founded in 1736 by Ivan Kirilov.
One is surprised not only by the first-class merchant architecture for the county town with magnificent examples of wooden Art Nouveau, but also by the impressive list of famous people whose destinies are connected with Buzuluk and its surroundings. Just imagine: Gavriil Derzhavin, Nikolai Karamzin, Sergei Aksakov, Leo Tolstoy, the legendary Vasily Chapaev and Dmitry Furmanov, traveler Fridtjof Nansen, military leaders Ludwig Svoboda and Vladislav Anders, cosmonaut Yuri Romanenko… And this is not a complete list!

Caves of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery

The cave monastery is one of the most popular attractions in Buzuluk. Pilgrims and tourists visit the underground corridors where they can see the cells and the chapel. In total, this route is about 150 meters. In 1853, the underground monastery was transformed into the Buzuluksky Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour. There was a list of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All who Grieve", which was the main shrine of the monastery.

In the 19th century, a monastery appeared next to the legendary Ataman Mountain. Before that, monks lived in caves.

V. Vysotsky House Museum

If you believe that music is the voice of time, then you should visit Vorontsovka. Founded by Count Vorontsov in the 18th century, the village began as an industrial outpost with serf labor and a distillery. However, fate gave her a different sound – poetic, musical, piercingly sincere. It was here that Vladimir Vysotsky lived with his mother during the Great Patriotic War. Decades later, in 2018, the local village club was renamed in his honor. A memorial room has been opened in it, where rare photographs, guitars, letters, as well as expositions reflecting the way of life and folk crafts of local residents are carefully preserved.

The family estate of G. Derzhavin

The village of Derzhavino is not just a point on the map of the Orenburg region, it is a place where history comes to life.

The Derzhavins' family estate, founded by the poet's father, is located in the Orenburg region in the village of the same name on the Kutuluk River. Derzhavin himself has been here many times, including when he fought against Pugachev's army. Today, Derzhavino has preserved an ancient church of the XVIII century, built at the expense of the poet.

Preobrazhenka is the small homeland of N.M. Karamzin

The village of Preobrazhenka, Buzuluksky district, is the Orenburg estate of the Karamzin family. Before the revolution, it was also called Mikhaylovka and Karamzikha. It was founded in the 1750s by the historiographer's father, Mikhail Egorovich, who received land near Buzuluk for his military service. It was here exactly 255 years ago, on December 1, 1766, that Nikolai Karamzin, the "count of Russian history," was born.

Volkonskaya Manor Museum

In the village of Pilyugino, Buguruslansky district, there is the Poltev-Volkonsky Estate, which housed the headquarters of Vasily Chapaev's division during the revolution. On December 8, 2023, the "Poltev–Volkonsky Estate", 1st quarter of the 19th century, turn of the 19th – 20th centuries (Orenburg Region) was entered into the unified state register of cultural heritage sites (historical and cultural monuments) of the peoples of the Russian Federation.

At the end of the 19th century, in the center of the verdant estate of Princess Evgenia Volkonskaya (nee. Vasilchikova) was a two-story house with columns and terraces. There was a stable with thoroughbred trotters, a carriage house with a luxurious carriage, as well as an advanced cheese factory with Swiss specialists at that time. The estate was surrounded by a watermill, a brick factory, a wooden bridge and a bridge with gates.The princess, educated and wise, often visited the estate, organized holidays for the peasants and was engaged in charity work. Her husband, Prince Alexander Mikhailovich, rarely came from Moscow. The estate flourished thanks to the princess' competent management and the introduction of modern technologies.

Museum-estate of S.T. Aksakov

In July 2025, the renovated Zapov museum was opened after a large-scale restoration.diary of the writer Sergey Aksakov.

On the territory pWith an area of more than 500 hectares, not only the buildings were restored, but also the entire historical landscape.

Total restored shewithhistorical buildings. The main exhibition area is the manor house. It contains materials about the Aksakov family. The workshops building houses a visitor center - a place for creative workshops, lectures, cultural events, as well as an exhibition hall.
