Description

The former building of the House of Pioneers in Buzuluk is a remarkable monument of urban history, included in the list of identified cultural heritage sites of the Orenburg region.

Built in the early 20th century in the Russian style of red ceramic bricks, it originally served the merchant Frolov — it housed a dining room and a wine cellar.

In 1947, the building was transferred to the House of Pioneers, the first director of which was Elizaveta Grigoryevna Ivanova; during these years extracurricular activities were actively developing here — ballet, drama, aviation modeling clubs, the "Young Gardeners" section, and later sections of tourists, buglers, drummers, drawing, sports (boxing, sambo, tennis) and international friendship clubs.

In 1992, the institution was renamed the Center for Extracurricular Activities and Children's Creativity, and in 2005 — the Center for Children's Creativity "Rainbow"; subsequently, the center moved, and the historic building was vacated.

Today, it houses catering and retail organizations, but the architectural features — including the curly masonry facades — preserve its distinctive appearance and remind of the rich history of the place.
