The library invites those who wish to attend an exciting event dedicated to one of the most famous folk crafts – Orenburg down knitting. During the meeting, everyone will have the opportunity to learn how this unique craft originated, to hear touching stories about the lives of craftsmen who created real works of art that won the hearts of people far beyond the region.
Guests will be able to get acquainted with rare photographs, old documents and video materials that will help plunge into the atmosphere of past eras and better understand how hard and inspired these elegant scarves were created. Special attention will be paid to the subtleties of working with down, a variety of patterns and techniques passed down from generation to generation. This event will allow the participants to take a fresh look at the famous down shawl and feel its special value.
The program will also feature songs, poems and excerpts from literary works celebrating the beauty and warmth of the Orenburg shawl.
The organizers of the event will prepare a thematic book exhibition "Down shawl in literature and Art".
