The history and secrets of the kuletkat craft.
The peoples of the Volga region have long been engaged in the matting and kulet craft, and this craft was widespread among the Bashkirs.
The craftsmen wove matting, a coarse household fabric (originally it was made from cattails, hence the name), and later from bast (bast).
Visitors will find out:
- the history of the manufacture of bast;
- features of its manufacture;
- methods of application.
Under the guidance of an experienced craftsman, you will learn how to properly prepare the material, shape it and fix it securely.
The final stage of the workshop's work will be a master class on creating unique handicrafts from a washcloth.
