Description
The Orenburg down goat, the ancestor of the famous down knitting industry, was decided to perpetuate by erecting a well–deserved monument to her. It was the wet-nurse goat that helped the residents of the Orenburg Region survive during the difficult war, post-war, and even during the perestroika years.
The monument is made of bronze. A dark goat with long downy locks is covered with a golden down shawl. As a drawing on the shawl, there is an image of Orenburg, the shawl ends with teeth, like all Orenburg down products. A bird sits on the goat's back, a symbol of the lightness of the Orenburg shawl itself, which easily and quickly flew around and conquered the whole world. The sculpture was made at the Orenburg art plant "Plast", mounted on a low round granite pedestal.
