Description
The church in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Orenburg is new, and the parish is already old. Previously, thanks to the interest and assistance of the director of Orentex LLC, A.A. Anikeev, it was located on the territory of a Textile mill. On June 24, 2000, the house church was consecrated by Archbishop Valentin of Orenburg and Buzuluk. It was the first church in the Northern district of Orenburg.
On December 17, 2016, His Eminence Veniamin, Metropolitan of Orenburg and Saraktash, performed the rite of consecration of the new temple, "on the mountain", to which the former house church had moved.
The spacious, bright church accommodates many more parishioners than the former small prayer house. The parishioners have rallied into a strong, active Christian community.
There are dining rooms in the basement of the temple. On Sundays, after the Liturgy, tea parties are held here, and on Wednesdays a bible group called "Gospel Readings" usually gathers.
The parish is only at the beginning of its journey, and much remains to be done. Any help is welcome! We need smart heads, young enthusiasm, warm hearts, and, of course, your prayers!
