"From geology to ecology"

Our first destination is the Gubernia Nature Reserve. Here, in the relict dancing forest, we will feel like the heroes of a fairy tale, far from civilization. We will walk along the Gubernia River, clenched in the embrace of rocks, where each stone holds its secret and resembles the outlines of animals. We will refresh ourselves in the coolness of natural fonts and waterfalls, admiring rare red book plants.
Throughout our adventure, we will try on the professions of ecologist, forester, ornithologist and soil scientist, observing the world around us and studying its features.

And our day will end at the "Sopotsko Club of Young Ecologists and Geologists of the city of Orsk". Here we will travel back in time, learning that millions of years ago, the Orenburg region was home to an ancient sea inhabited by marine dinosaurs: plesiosaurs, mosasaurs, ichthyosaurs, as well as turtles, sharks and other creatures!
We will learn about the incredible finds of paleontologists: hundreds of vertebrae of plesiosaurs and mosasaurs, thousands of teeth of Cretaceous sharks, the remains of sea turtles and much more! We are waiting for a fascinating story about the diversity of ancient fauna, including three species of long-necked plesiosauroids, two species of mosasaurs, 22 species of chalk sharks and many others.

On the second day, we will explore the industrial world. We will learn about the technologies used in factories and how they interact with nature.

At "Akkerman Cement" LLC, we will see cement production from start to finish. The technologist will talk about the stages, and the ecologist will talk about environmental protection technologies. In the quarry of the plant, together with a geologist, we will try to find ammonites and belemnites, learning about the flora and fauna of the Jurassic period.

"The "Steel Way" route is waiting for us at "Ural Steel". We will visit the museum of the history of the enterprise and the coke shop, where coke is produced from coal – fuel for smelting pig iron. We will take a guided bus to the blast furnace to see the cast iron production process. Employees of the environmental protection department will talk about the protection of nature at the enterprise. The visit will end with a "metallurgist's lunch".

We will feel like environmental engineers, metallurgists and environmental protection specialists.

At the Polytechnic College of Novotroitsk, we will visit scientific laboratories and conduct our own research using materials collected at factories.
