Description

On August 17, 2015, the grand opening of the Civil Aviation Museum took place on the territory of the "Tsentralny" airport in Orenburg. The Civil Aviation Museum is open-air, featuring Tu-154, Tu-134, An-24 and Yak-40 civil aircraft, as well as the Mi-2 helicopter. All air vehicles operated on the routes, performing regular flights, transporting people and goods, having exhausted their resources, they were exhibited as exhibits.

At the grand opening of the Civil Aviation Museum at the Orenburg Airport named after Yuri Gagarin was attended by the top officials of the city, including the governor of the Orenburg region, Yuri Berg, and the mayor of Orenburg, Yuri Meshcheryakov. The first visitors to the open-air museum were children from orphanages in Orenburg and Orsk. They were given guided tours not only around the museum, but also inside the aircraft. Despite the fact that there were heavy rains and strong winds on the opening day, the celebration was a success, and at the end of the event the aerobatic team "Strizhi" of the Orsk Aviation Sports Club performed.

All the aircraft on display at the Civil Aviation Museum are not just exhibits - they are real operational aircraft, fully equipped. The museum is open to visitors every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. So far, it is possible to view aviation equipment only from the outside, but in the future they plan to let visitors inside aircraft as well. The museum is unique, there is no such thing in the Orenburg region anymore. Where else will you have the opportunity to stand next to a real Tu-154 or Tu-134 civil aviation veteran?
