Description
A picturesque rocky gorge is formed by the Kamsak River near the village of Kamyshaklinsky state farm, 1 km east of the mouth of Dombarovka Creek. There is an extraordinarily beautiful Kamsak gorge with rocky steep shores.
On the higher left bank, along the cliff, there are rock outcrops in the form of pillars up to 10 m high. These are samples of remnant forms on a hard substrate from volcanogenic-sedimentary rocks of the Lower Paleozoic. The remains consist of quartz-chlorite-amphibole shales, which are dissected by veins of milky-white quartz.
In the right-bank cliff, in its upper part, there is an artificial cave—tunnel up to 4 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 1.2 m high. The tunnel ends with a vertical pipe opening on a gentle slope above the cliff. According to S.V. Bogdanov, this tunnel was the dwelling of a hermit monk in the XVIII–XIX centuries.
The Kamsak River in the gorge area has the appearance of a narrow lake with depths up to 3 m and picturesque backwaters near the shores. The low shores are overgrown with tugai-type forest with a predominance of shrubby species of willows and white poplar.
Kamsak gorge is one of the most valuable landscapes and aesthetics in the entire Eastern Orenburg region. It has excellent video environmental qualities that will be appreciated by artists, photographers, and landscape filmmakers.
