Description
The Yaman-Kasa quarry is the result of the development of a deposit of copper-pyrite ores. The name was derived from the Yaman-kasa stream (translated from Bashkir as "bad river"). According to one version, the name originated from fugitive criminals and peasants who were hiding in these places. The Yaman-Kasinskoye deposit was explored in the 1930s. Ore mining was carried out from 1990 to 2003, during which time about 1.5 million tons of commercial ore were extracted from the quarry.
