Museum lesson on painting plaster figurines "Horse"

the 25th of October

Orenburg, Volodarskogo street, 13

The Dymkovsky toy is one of the most famous Russian folk toys. And they appeared on Vyatka land in the settlement of Dymkovo at the end XVIII centuries. The origin of the toy is associated with the spring Whistler holiday, for which the female population of the Dymkovo settlement sculpted clay whistles in the form of horses, sheep, goats, and ducks.

The world of animals, both wild and domestic, has always been at the center of attention of the Dymkovo craftsmen. The horse figurine is one of the ancient forms of the Dymkovsky toy. Proud, obstinate, stubborn, silly, the character of each horse is unique, it is transmitted through plastic, color and ornament, and there are no two identical toys in the world.

During the lesson, participants will hear a story about the famous toy capitals of Russia and see Russian folk clay toys – Dymkovskaya, Kargopolskaya and Filimonovskaya. During the lesson, participants will learn about the technology of making clay toys, study symbols, solve an art crossword puzzle and complete a creative task - they will paint a horse figurine based on a Dymkovsky toy.
