The Philharmonic invites young audiences to a musical tale by Benjamin Britten performed by the Orenburg State Symphony Orchestra.
Britten's "Orchestra Guide" introduces children to the voices of various instruments. An order from the state prompted us to turn to the embodiment of this pedagogical and educational idea.: for the film "Orchestra Instruments" it was necessary to write a suitable musical canvas. But the artistic value of the composition turned out to be so high that the music separated from the film group and lived its life as an independent symphonic work.
The "Guide" is based on the theme of the English composer of the 17th century Henry Purcell from the music to the drama by Afra Ben "Abdelazar, or The Revenge of the Moor". Developing it over a cycle of 13 variations, Britten shows the possibilities of different orchestral groups and solo instruments. Britten's "Guidebook..." is deservedly called the encyclopedia of the orchestra.
The artistic director and chief conductor is Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Tkachenko.
