Description

One of the most interesting topics for tourists visiting the Orenburg region, and especially Sol-Iletsk, is the theme of the Cossacks. 20 km from the resort, you can visit the ethnographic complex "Cossack Kuren", where you can learn about the history of the origin of the local Cossacks and their traditions.

The museum complex "Kazachy Kuren" was established in 2000. It is located in the village of Grigoryevka, on the picturesque bank of the Kurala River. It includes several buildings: residential buildings, barns, and a stable. Everything is stylized in the form of a courtyard of the 19th century.

The Cossacks' residential buildings were two-storied. At the same time, the lower part was built of raw brick, and the upper part was made of wood. The Cossacks believed that "you need to live in a tree, and store supplies in a stone." By the 20th century, when dekulakization began, they began to build houses that were less attractive and less noticeable. So, the second tier is removed, leaving only the wooden one, which is simpler. But despite the changes, the layout inside the dwelling remained the same as it always was. "" All the rooms were placed in a circle, so the house was called "kuren", which means "round".

For the guests of the museum complex, a table is set with dishes that were always prepared by the wives of the Cossacks. From the first minute of their stay in Kuren, visitors to the museum complex find themselves immersed in the traditions of the Orenburg Cossacks. For example, during lunch, all the guests are seated on different sides of the table: men on one side and women on the other. This was done as a precaution: so that the Cossack, who was too full of strong drinks, would not inadvertently hug someone else's wife at the table. It would be a great blow to the honor of both men and women.

In general, the issue of honor and respect has always been in the foreground for the Cossack. For example, men and their wives walked separately so as not to hurt those women who had lost their husbands in battle.

There was a special attitude towards the older generation. It was forbidden to overtake the old man on the street – if necessary, they asked him for permission to go around. Restraint and respect were observed in relations with elders, and especially with parents.

On the tour, guests will learn about traditions, as well as about Cossack fun and games, and for those who like activities, horseback riding and boating on the Kurala River will be offered.
