The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Yuri Berg, Chairman of the Regional Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Orenburg region Alfit Hazrat Sharipov, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Oleg Dimov, Head of Orenburg Evgeny Arapov.
Yuri Berg congratulated the Muslims on such a significant event.
– The opening of the mosque is a celebration for all of us. For almost three centuries, representatives of different peoples who call themselves Orenburg have lived on this land in friendship and harmony, regardless of nationality and religion. Orenburg residents are faithful to the precepts and faith of their ancestors and respect the customs and religion of their neighbors. Look how symbolic it is.: "The Muslims of Orenburg region actively participate in the public life of the region, conduct educational activities, revive the traditions of charity, make a significant contribution to the promotion of family values and the strengthening of interreligious and interethnic harmony," said the head of the region.
The Governor thanked everyone who took part in the construction of the mosque and wished everyone health, peace and harmony.
Yuri Berg presented Letters of Thanks from the Governor of the Orenburg Region to the most active participants in the construction.
In response, Alfit Sharipov called on everyone to live by the laws of faith, keep the peace, and respect their neighbors and loved ones.
The construction of the mosque in the village of Yuzhny, Orenburg, began on the initiative of the then Mufti of the Orenburg region, Abdulbar Hazrat Khairullin and Zaki Hazrat Sagdiyev in 2000.
Assistance in the construction was provided by the regional Government, the Orenburg administration, entrepreneurs of the Orenburg region, deputies of the Legislative Assembly and the City Council, public organizations, residents of the residential districts of Yuzhny and Karachi.
